Two Gardens Open Saturday 23rd June in Penarth Under The National Garden Scheme

Yellow Book National Garden Scheme Penarth – PENARTH GARDENS

Diana Mead and Louise Sawyer are opening their gardens on Saturday 23rd June, 11.00 am. to 5.00 pm. for the NGS Yellow Book Garden Scheme. Admission for both gardens will be £3.00, children under 16 free.

The National Gardens Scheme was founded in 1927 to raise money for the nurses of the Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI) by opening gardens of quality and interest to the public. Now over 3700 gardens are open every year. Please support Diana and Louise whose garden's will be a joy to see plus helping a very worthwhile charity.

Louise's garden (above), Honeysuckle Cottage 118a Lavernock Road, has a well stocked, colourful cottage-style front garden and and a private enclosed rear garden beautifully planted with roses, clematis, perennials and annuals. Teas will be available here with a choice of pretty seating areas to enjoy a welcome "cuppa" and home-made cake. Plants for sale.

Diana's garden (below), Witsend, 77 Coleridge Avenue, has three small linked plots: a cottage-style front with serpentine gravel path, shrubs, roses and perennials; a productive side vegetable area with small apple trees; a secluded rear garden with small pear trees, frog pond (lots of tadpoles!), garden bench and scented plants.

There will be an art exhibition with originals, cards and prints for sale and a guest jewellery stall. Plants for sale.
